Who will be there?
In addition to YOU, there will be a great line-up of speakers representing amazing Solution Focused work around the region. Today we highlight five of the speakers with more to come in the upcoming weeks.
Dr. Jane Tuomola has her own company in Singapore where she has been based for 11 years. She is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in adult mental health, and also works as a Life and Executive Coach and Coaching Supervisor. Her credentials include Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Master Solution Focused Practitioner, Professional Certified Coach (ICF), and Senior Practitioner (EMCC). With extensive cross-cultural experience from living in four countries across three continents, she aids individuals in adapting to new environments. Passionate about cross-cultural psychology, she co-edited "Solution Focused Practice in Asia" and ” Solution Focused Coaching in Asia”, aiming to support culturally sensitive practices in the field. One of the chapters she wrote is called Thriving Through Transitions using Solution Focused Coaching.
Sukanya Wignaraja has a Masters in Social Work from Oxford University, UK. She is a Master Solution Focused Practitioner with IASTI, and a Professional Certified Coach with ICF. Sukanya worked in the mental health field in the UK for many years across a range of settings. She was a Specialist Advisor in Social Work to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office. Sukanya was an Executive Coach and Senior Psychotherapist in mental health NGOs in Manila and Tokyo, where she also conducted training programmes for counsellors. Since 2017, Sukanya has been in private practice in Colombo, Sri Lanka where she works with individuals and couples and as an Executive Coach.
Edwin Choy holds a Master’s Degree, a Graduate Certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy and has over 20 years experience as a counsellor, trainer and coach. He is co-founder of the Centre for Fathering and a pioneer in designing outdoor adventure camps for father-child bonding. Edwin is a Certified Solution Focused Coach and Therapist from the CCPC, Master Solution Focused Practitioner from IASTI and Professional Certified Coach with the ICF. He is a pioneer in Teacher Renewal programs and has been training educators and discipline masters in the use of Solution Focused coaching in schools across Asia.
Kirsten Dierolf has been coaching executives, middle managers and teams for global corporations since 1996. She also designed and delivered large leadership development programs all over the globe. In 2016 she was certified as Master Certified Coach. She has coached over 3000 hours as a professional coach and passed the thorough exams of the International Coach Federation. Kirsten is member of the assessor team for the ICF for MCC and PCC certifications.
Her Solution Focused expertise comes from training directly with the founders of the approach, Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer. She was president of SFCT, the association for the quality development of solution focused consulting and training and founder and member of the editorial team for “InterAction — the journal of solution focus in organisations.”
She is a prolific writer with over 30 articles and two books: “The solution tango” with Louis Cauffman and “Solution Focused Team Coaching“. Kirsten has been running programs to develop professional Solution Focused Coaches since 2008. Her first Accredited Program ran in 2015.
Dr Mark McKergow is an international speaker, trainer, consultant, author, and director of the Centre for Solutions Focus at Work (SFWork), based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mark has written six books and dozens of articles on using Solution Focused ideas within organisational and coaching practice, including The Solutions Focus (with Paul Z Jackson) and Solutions Focus Working (with Jenny Clarke). He is a global pioneer in hosting as leadership, where he wrote Host: Six new roles of engagement (Solutions Books, 2014) with Helen Bailey, and The Host Leadership Field Book (Solutions Books, 2019). Mark is widely known for his ability to connect complex ideas with simplicity in practice. He sits on the Editorial Boards of both the Journal of Systemic Therapies and the Journal of Solution Focused Brief Practice. His latest books are Hosting Generative Change (BMI, 2020) and The Next Generation of Solution Focused Practice (Routledge, 2021). He is also the editor of the Journal of Solution Focused Practices (http://journalsfp.org) and writes every week on Substack at Steps To A Humanity Of Organisation (subscribe below)
