What does it look like when a team of six start a coaching culture? It looks like transformation.

Last year I started training a group of 17 RI teachers and counselors in Solution Focused Coaching. About nine went on to pursue ICF Coaching Certification with Academy of Solution Focused Training. Of these, six are a core team of coaches whose vision is to support students through coaching.
They called themselves the Raffles Institution Melioris Coaching Team. Melioris is the Latin word for “better.” It is also in their school motto: Auspicium Melioris Aevi (Hope for a Better Age).
The meaning fits very well with the Solution Focused assumption about how we view people and situations. We are constantly curious about what’s better in people. The Melioris coaching team’s vision or best hope is that through coaching, their students can discover and see a better version of themselves
The Melioris Coaching team started coaching mid 2023. To date they have completed 79 coaching sessions. The JC students who were coached reported good things to their teachers about their coaching session. The teachers started to be curious about what Solution Focused coaching is all about and what the Melioris team is doing. Next week a group of 26 teachers (beyond their expected number of 20) signed up for an after school session conducted by the team to understand what SF coaching is.
What an amazing team of change agents making a difference in students’ lives!
It is planned to have the Melioris Coaching team present at the upcoming Solution Focused Approach Conference in September later this year. Attend the conference and meet this amazing team!

Are you a graduate of our previous ACSTH program, and need some help to cross over the finish line for your ICF certification?
Our new ICF Level 1 Accreditation enables us at the Academy to assess your coaching to pass Level 1 (ACC) - no need to submit recordings to ICF assessors. We qualify to do this and can issue a new Level 1 certificate of completion.
Our trained Level 1 assessors can work with you, assess your recording to meet the minimum competencies, and then you can apply for Level 1 certification with the ICF.

Transforming Teams
